This is my attempt at the Jazz Pirouette warm-up we are doing in Shaqueel’s dance lessons. I am impressed with how much my arms and leg coordination has improved, doing different things simultaneously. However, my overall balance leaves quite a bit of room for improvement. There are several points within the video where I rotate, especially when I’m turning 180° or 360°. I have been watching several videos of professionals performing Jazz Pirouettes to see their technique in being able to keep their balance especially on the rotation. There were several methods that they used which I thought would be helpful for me to incorporate. For one, their elbows being held a lot higher in the air than mine, as well as their toes being a lot more pointed, with their thighs pressed together when lifting their left leg (something I managed to do but only on rare occasions in the video).
