Synthesis process evidence
Below include information on the synthesis processes incorporated within the composition. You may add any media that is appropriate using the block menu on the left-hand-side.
In this song I decided to use two synths shown above. The Jun 6V I used as a pad to give ambience in some parts of the song and the PolyMAX as lead synth.
I understand the PolyMAX is a substractive synth so I started playing with the oscillators and I tried to blend 2 sounds. I found myself liking the saw/square shape on oscillator 1 and the triangle shape on oscillator 2, I made oscillator 1 and octave higher so it sounds a little bit different. After that I enjoyed the sound so I felt I didn’t need the filters since this synth was cutting through the mix as how it was. I made the synth mono and turned up the glide so it sounded like jumping between notes instead of a whole chord. And the glide to give it a bit of detuning. In the amplifier section I turned the sustain all the way up so I listened to the length of the midi notes, and I turned the release up to have a bit of a tail after playing.
The Jun 6v is also a substractive synth but with you have buttons to enable 2 oscillators instead of knobs. The only shapes available are square and saw. For this one I used the square shape so I could use PWM option which modulates the pulse-width. It gave me the impression of chorus type of effect. I also used the LFO section to make the pad have some vibrato. I played with both filter and they got set around 480 HPF and 140 LPF with the resonance at max. I maxed the KBD function so the LPF got reduced at the moment I played I also set the amplifier to gate which is like a on/off. It basically means the gate is open as long as I have a key pressed. After I added the chorus number 2 and some reverb and minimum delay to have more dimension.
