Synthesis process evidence

For the lead synth line, I used the EFM1 stock Logic plug in. I chose this synth as it gives the classic futuristic retro 80s synth sound that I thought would fit well in context of my composition. I used the legato setting as I thought it sounded most fitting for a funky Daft Punk-esque lead melodic line. The simplicity of this synth meant that I could easily control how I wanted it to sound to achieve the most suitable synth possible. I used the LFO it a cool phasing effect.

For my bass synth, I decided to use Vital as it gave me the most freedom, allowing me to add effects like distortion and chorus. I wanted to create a bass sound that was reminiscent of that which Justice uses, another French/funk house duo. I decided this to give my original retro Daft Punk sound a modern edge and add some grit to the track. i used a saw and a square wave with a filter applied to env1. I also added white noise and 2 filters on osc1 and one on osc2. Then I added a bit crush distortion and a chorus effect.
