Synthesis process evidence

Above are screen shots of the pad I created for the chords. The process in making this sound was starting with a saw wave sound on serum and manipulating/shaping it in different ways. One of the ways I did this was by creating a slow attack and manipulating the “Portatime” feature to get the glide effect that this pad has. I also added a filter to take out some of the harsh high end. Within Serum I added a compressor and a “Hyperdrive” plugin which adds delay and chorus to create a thicker sound and to create more depth to the sound of the synthesizer. The filter I added (which can be seen in the second screen shot called “Filter Freak1”) took some more of the harsh frequencies away and the EQ removed the rubble out of the low end. The reverb, Micro Shift and Echo Boy gave space to the synth which meant that the synth fit in the mix better. I feel as though these plugins do not make a massive difference to the sound of this synth that I have created, but it does add a layer of texture that I like.
