Synthesis process evidence
In this project, I used a combination of subtractive synthesis and sampling to create ambient textures beneath the guitars, creating depth and layering in the piece. I used a variety of envelopes to create soft pad sounds and a lead synthesiser. The synthesisers I picked sit mostly in the back of the mix, just filling up the whole sound apart from the lead which plays alongside the guitar in the “chorus” section. I amde these synth patches myself using my knowledge of Serum 2 although for the Wavestation whistle synth I found a Glass Pad sound I liked and tweaked it to fit better into my mix.
