This portfolio is a showcase of the musical areas I have been focusing on throughout the past year. The pieces I have chosen; The Pump, The Wind Cries Mary, and Lenny, contain elements of rock and blues, which are genres I have become familiar with through practice and research. I have looked into these genres because rock and blues techniques can be found within multiple styles of guitar playing, understanding this has given me an insight towards the capabilities of the guitar as an instrument, as well as improving my technical ability.

I have chosen to produce a portfolio because I have received bass guitar lessons through a bursary in the last year. I wanted to incorporate the skills I have learned on the bass guitar alongside my first instrument, which would be difficult to showcase in a performance. I have recorded the audio of these parts into Ableton and used a stem splitter to insert the parts of the track that are not covered.
