Statement of Intention
Playing with various musicians and over a multitude of projects, i explored a wide variety of differing stylist conventions across a plethora of genres including dissecting and appropriating the use of different drumming techniques and styles.
Handle it is with a female fronted punk band called Clitspit, so taking into consideration the norm of punk drummers, i tried to make my parts as simple as possible while focussing more on the energy and feel of the song.
The songs Hess and Perfume are with a loud noise rock/post punk band called Fetish Society. The drums on these songs are similar dynamically to Clitspit but with more complexity in the writing process.
Finally, the songs Holed Up Held Down, Sneak, Headcount and Task Manager are with an indie/midwest emo band called Elwell. In this band i take a more laid back approach dynamically, focussing on the backbeat while trying to maintain my own personal style.
