For my specialist study performance, I began with the aim of creating my original EP of trip-hop music, some of biggest influences include Nightmares on wax and portishead. As I delved deeper into the history I saw an interesting correlation with Cold War era technology and music, specifically music from old spy films. This the inspired me to create my trip hop EP with the concept of a soundtrack to a film of a similar ilk; following the styles and themes that are seen throughout this sort of music.
