5 Minute Warm Up

This is a part of our warm up used for dance. We start with jogging and arm exercises to put strength and tension into our arms; preparation for plie, kicks and leaping. As you can see in the video, I (left) am still sinking my arms too low and far back due to my lack of tension in them. I need to keep them tense to hit the exact points and not flop down. I can do this by strengthening my shoulders and biceps. I can add in some arm circles from small to big to help with the warmup. 

Similarly, in the side to side running exercise, my arms need to be in ‘blade’ shape and not as flimsy, as well as keeping them straight by my side in the kicks. My overall goal for the next warm up is to focus on bringing tension to my arms.
