I chose a practice warm up on the guitar. I have recently learned the fingerpick style and have been given an exercise in my guitar lesson. The primary purpose of this warm up is to increase comfort with gaining independence between. James Dee (my guitar teacher) taught me to play specifically with my wrist up and my fingers in a ‘sock puppet’ formation, keeping my thumb straight and at a different angle from My fingers. He then taught me the exercise where I play with, thumb, first finger, second finger, first finger, third finger, first finger, second finger, third finger. This was then played twice per chord, across the chord progression G, E minor, C and D, with the string I play the root note changing each time. I also then was told to warm up and practice along to the song ‘The reckoner’ by Radiohead to experience it along to a proper rhythm.
