Synthesis
Bass-
Above is the bass for my track. I created this sound from scratch using Arturia Mini V3 Synth (see below for screenshot). On the first oscillator I used a triangular saw sound to create a gritty texture for the bass so that even though it’s a bass you can still hear the high end. The reason I didn’t use a normal saw synth sound is because I found it too harsh. For the second oscillator I used a triangular waveform to smooth off the edges. I set both of these to a range of 16′ so that they were a lower pitch because of the waveforms being slower. I turned on soft clipping so that the sound would not be hitting the high end so much and will maintain its bass sound. I gave it a slight cut off to further smooth off the edges.

Riser-
Above is the rise. I used this to create tension on the drops. To complement this I dropped out the snares this gave more focus to the riser and created more suspense. I created this with Logics own Retro Synth. I simply used the default preset and changed the shape 1 to an asymmetric waveform and shape 2 to a pulse waveform. This created an aggressive wind type sound. to create the riser itself I automated the cutoff and made it rise until the drop. See below for screenshots.
