This Electronic Press Kit has been designed to market and promote my brand and stream of work as a Singer-Songwriter and Performer. I’ve used the overall pink colour scheme to represent my main brand colours and the scheme that I usually stick to during gigs and events. There are some logistical limitations with this current EPK, being that I am a first year student – hopefully within the next year I will be able to outline more extensive and various achievements in my bio and have more posted on my social media links such as YouTube and TikTok as I would hope to grow my following and overall output substantially. As for font style and general aesthetic, I have tried to incorporate the ideas that I have outlined in my idea of my sonic style, being nostalgic of decade music and contemporary rnb and soul – the font, in turn, is much more of a classic, simplistic style to represent this whilst the intentionally grainy filter applied on all of the images provided creates a solidified aesthetic and feel to my brand that would be associated with me perhaps in the future as I build the EPK more.
Personally, I believe that Instagram is more relevant in the digital era of music marketing – I particularly realised this when trying to look for current EPKs of artists and not seeming to find any. With that being said, an EPK is a usual compact format to send to gig venues and event organisers who are looking to clearly understand your achievements, genre and brand without having to sift through instagram stories, grid posts and links.
